Anything old or broken, Luke, Isabel and Sylvia get to take apart. Vacuums never last more than two years in this house.

Isabel got bored pretty quickly, but Luke was determined and Sylvia was determined to be his helper and apprentice.

They are pointing to where they found FISH HOOKS! What? Was I not supposed to vacuum up fish hooks? Then what good is a vacuum!?

Here they are studying where the "electrical stuff" moves the gear and rotator brush.

Now Hazel thinks that a vacuum is for sticking screwdrivers in.

Learning about monks in the middle ages we also learned about calligraphy although Isabel, Miss Smarty Pants, claimed to already know everything about calligraphy. We learned that the very popular style of the first letter in a chapter being ornate, came from the monks. Here is Luke and Isabel's initials, but Sylvia became a frustrated artist and ripped hers to shreds.

There are a ton of Calligraphy instruction books for kids as well as calligraphy pens at craft stores. So if you have a child like my Isabel who likes to write and make things pretty, calligraphy is great for that.

We busted out our Halloween Crafts book. As you can see my copy is very old and beat up.

We made some great ghosts for our spooky chandelier. We are also planning on making the milk carton trick or treat bags once we drink four gallons, so....in a couple of days.
